The Rifters are a Taos, New Mexico based band that formed in 2002 from the break-up of a couple different popular bands of the region - Hired Hands and The Rounders. Two members from each group found themselves in between groups and started doing some gigs together. They were soon having too much fun to stop, not to mention the audiences were enjoying it at least as much as the band. They have since become one of the most popular and sought-after groups in the region. The line-up of the Rifters is Rod Taylor on guitar, mandolin and vocals; Steve Garry on guitar and vocals; Jim Bradley on bass and vocals, and Don Richmond on guitar, mandolin, banjo, fiddle, pedal steel guitar, harmonica and vocals.
