Hired Hands was one of the most popular "Acoustic Americana" groups in the northern New Mexico - southern Colorado region from their inception in 1992 until their retirement in 2006. (They still get together for special occasions now and then.)

The first line-up of members in Hired Hands was Don Richmond on guitar, mandolin, banjo, fiddle and vocals; Billy Bond, Jr. on dobro, guitar and vocals; and Steve Lindsay on bass and vocals. They released the self-titled CD "Hired Hands" in 1994. Steve Lindsay left the band to do more road work and later Billy moved on as well due to other demands on his time, and after a couple other changes the line-up became Jim Bradley on bass and vocals, Eddy Lee (Bullington) on guitar and vocals, and Don on his various instruments. This version of the band released two recordings - Stuff That Works and Hands of Time - that are on many people's short list of the best recordings to come out of this region.

Eddy Lee left the band in 2001 and was replaced by Billy Bond coming back to do some gigs, and this line-up of Billy, Jim and Don continues to perform occasionally when their commitments and diverse locations permit.
